Since you asked...we use a standard 12ft round Panther pavilion. This is the
one with 14 perimeter poles and a central upright pole. The walls were made
separately (we ordered the top from Panther) from canvas we lucked into at
Wal-Mart of all places ;-)If I remember correctly, Yvianne constructed the
walls at home on her regular sewing machine. The divider curtain in the
pavilion is a rectangular piece of cloth with a pocket sewn in one long end.
We run a cord through the pocket and tie it off to opposite perimeter poles
to provide a 'private area'. It is very convenient when you need to change
clothes, armor issues, ect. This is the same pavilion our daughter Kaithren
uses for Pennsic.
On the downside, it is a huge pain to set up as you actually have to set it
up twice to ensure everything lines up properly. On the plus side, it is
pretty, it is period and it sheds wind like nobody's business.
If you like the look of the rounds, I would suggest checking out the style
that use an interior wheel or spokes to support the walls. I have no
experience with them, but I know there are those who like that style
immensely.
