Hi Folks!

I havn't ranted at you for a while, and as the list admin, I feel it's
my duty to whine at least once in a while in vain hope that perhaps
at least one more person will be enlightened.

When making posts, it's really helpful to include a descriptive
subject line. For example, a recent dance practice annoucement
(not to pick on them) could have had the following subject:

Dance Practice in Sterlynge Vayle (Endicott, NY) Oct 8, 1-5pm

Looking at that subject, you know almost all the information you need
to decide if you need/want to read the post further.

Some other subject tags and suggestions:
[ISO] - "In Search Of" Be sure to put the name(s) in the subject.

[Event] - An event. Good things to put in the title are event name,
	location, and date.

[OT]- The dreaded off topic post. If you find yourself unable to
contain yourself, try to be courteous and at least mark topics that do
not pertain to the Kingdom of AEthelmearc.

[SOT] - Somewhat off topic. Somewhat more acceptable than OT posts. :)
Perhaps an annoucement of something medieval, but not
	AEthelmearc centric.

"Subject title" (was "old subject title") - Used to change the update
the subject when a message thread strays from the original thread.
Having the old title in there helps folks who were interested in
the topic know the discussion is being continued under a new
thread title. Be somewhat conservative with this convention.
you don't want to do this with every single post...

This list isn't complete. Try and use your (or at least someone
else's) common sense.

A descriptive subject draws your target audience's attention while
allowing those that would not be interested to skim by.

May no harm befall you,

Because it goes against the normal flow of conversation.
