[SCA-AE] Ice Dragon 2007 Penthalon A&S Competition RULES DRAFT

Dear AEthelmearc Lords and Ladies:

The Rhydderich Hael has once again asked me to serve as Pentocrat of the Ice Dragon 
2007 A&S competition to be held on March 17th, 2007 at the Erie County Fairgrounds in 
Hamburg, NY (same location as last year).  

I am proposing a few changes to last year's set of rules and categories.  My team would 
find your input very helpful as we consider what worked well last year and a few things 
that need to be changed.  

Also, competition gets "dull" if a bit of spice isn't added to the dish each year.

You'll find that I am proposing splitting calligraphy and illumination off into a major letter 
category on its own, as well as setting printmaking, drawing, painting and stained glass up 
as a separate letter category.  A new category, Toymaking, has been added this year.

I have 'compressed' needlework into a letter category without subcategories.

I considered compressing Costuming into a single category as well, based on the VERY 
LOW number of entries last year.  If I can be reassured that we will have more entries this 
year, I won't do this.......

Also, Group entries this year DO NOT have to have more than one person working on each 
entry.
