Dear Maria,

I can bring some irises I was going to thin anyhow, but my question to you
is this: will you have adequate room to haul the plants back, if many
people respond? Would she like some forsythias? I cut pot one up, I am
replanting them to a less maintenance-sensitive area.

Kazi

Subject: [SCA-AE] OT... trade flower for thread?

Dear people,
This is way off topic, please forgive me but...
I just found out that a dear friend of mine was flooded badly this last
month. Besides destroying all that was in their basement to the floor
joists, it also destroyed her beloved garden.
She and her husband had made a huge flower garden which filled their entire
yard. It was the work of at least 15 years and was her joy in life. They
both have health problems now, as well as money problems, and this has just
about beaten her.

I don't have anything but ferns and daffodils to give her. BUT I DO have
some coats & clark sewing thread that I can trade for a spare bulb or small
rootlet of any kind of flower you want to thin out of your flower gardens.
If you have room in packing for Pennsic to put in one bulb or plant, I would
be very happy to trade you for a small spool of black or white thread.
I'll be at merchant booth #25 again this year...the brown Slavic fabric
house on wheels: Dragon's Magic....(the Polish fabric merchant)

I know this is too much to ask for mostly everyone in the pre-Pennsic
frenzy, but if I can only get a couple bulbs or such to help her start over
it would make a big difference to them.

Thank you muchly.
