Actually, having done this a lot recently, it varies depending on the
Crown's choice for Their Tourney: sometimes it's by the highest
precedence of the couple (for example, I walked in pretty high for
first Crown even as a squire, because I was fighting for Mistress
Cassadoria, and she was the highest-ranked non-Royal Peer fighting or
being fought for in that Tourney), sometimes it's by the precedence of
the combattant, and sometimes it's by the precedence of the *fighting
award* of the combattant; Æthelmearc has done each of these in its
history, at one time or another.

I'm pretty sure we haven't either; I have some recollection of the
former Prince/sses marching in order for something, but that was a very
long time ago.

And for toasts at feasts, but since you only really have to know who
the top 3 or 4 are on site, that's rarely a problem.

Yeah, it is. :)
