[SCA-AE] books for brewers and cooks

The best book I could recommend for the beginner brewer would be Charlie
Papazain's "Complete Joy of Homebrewing." It's simple yet comprehensive,
and it's a fun read. It includes tons of recipes. If the instruction given
in this book could make brewing seem simple for me, it should work for
anyone. After getting familiar, seeking period sources would be another
step, but this is a very good place from which to start.
