That's a good idea, since it actually runs cheaper than the hornet killer. 
Also.... 

For those who weren't aware of why this works.....
When you coat their exterior with a substance such as this, it's suffocating
the little creepies. 
Enough of it and you kill them.

I found a wonderful alternative for killing "yellow jacket" hornets (those
nasty ones that swarm around soda cans)... I was trying to knock one down in
our kitchen and didn't want to contaminate the area with wasp killer... I
grabbed a bottle of the heavy duty "Orange-Sol" citrus cleaner. The really
good stuff.

Lo and behold, a spray to knock it down and a light spritz after it dropped,
and the hornet curled up and died... I wiped the cleaner off of the counter
(which led to more cleaning, but I digress) and the end result was a dead
hornet and it smelled like oranges!
