email server concept: what's mail delivery agent

Sorry but I think my question is still not answered so far: if I am 
going to use the cyrus' delivery agent (now I realize I should use 
lmtp(8) from postfix and lmtpd(8) from cyrus), I don't have to go 
through virtual(8) and local(8) any more? Right?
