multiple ctl_cyrusdb's ...

I'm getting a weird occurance on one of my servers:

ns2# ps aux | grep cyrusdb | wc -l
      19

trussing the oldest of the 19 processes, shows:

I'm running a fairly recent cyrus-imapd:

pluto# ls -ld cyrus-imapd-2.2.2.b_2/
drwxr-xr-x  2 root  wheel  512 Dec 24 13:34 cyrus-imapd-2.2.2.b_2/

is this something that was known to be a bug, and fixed in 2.2.3?  If not,
is there any thoughts on how to debug it?
