Problems with mkimap command

I'm sure it's easy if you know how.  I need to learn a
bit more about authentication for Cyrus.   Meantime, I
have a problem when trying to execute the following:

su cyrus
tools/mkimap


I get error message:
can't open /etc/imapd.conf at (eval 1) line 15, <DATA>
line 82

Would appreciate someone pointing me in the right
direction.
