log.0000000002 is created with wrong permissions!

well, if I were you I'd contact Apple regarding this. However, it may help 
if you show us your cyrus.conf file. Normally that's in /etc, but it's 
possible that Apple installs it somewhere else. I have the suspicion that 
ctl_cyrusdb isn't called *there*, but instead from cron, possibly as root. 
That may be the explanation for the observed behavior,

Anyway, fixing this is Apple's job since they distribute a customized 
version of Cyrus IMAP. Note that I use Mac OS X myself, so I'm not an Apple 
basher ...
