Linux ext3 performance (Re: fsync() takes about 0.06 second ...)

I believe that was ext2, not ext3.  I read the article, but didn't see
anything about kernel panics.  Can you point out exactly where in the
article that is?

Also it may be noted there is apprently a big bug in the journal FS
method for ext3 that can cause kernel panics (didnt someone mention this
on this list a little while back (months)).
