Dear All,

I hope this finds everyone doing well.  I wanted to write with a couple Alice updates and requests for help.

1.  In case this was lost in the holiday season we did release a version of Alice that will allow you to import your own models.  We are very interested to hear if anyone has used this feature and would love feedback on the process and help testing:

2.  For those of you in the Western PA region we have kicked off the Alice Regional Challenge and are excited for you all to take part.  As part of this we are running our one-day student bootcamp again this year so please send any of your students that you think would enjoy this event our way:

3.  We have had several inquiries about our summer workshop this year.  We are planning on hosting it the week of July 15th to 19th at CMU. Any possibility of running a boot camp in the Philadelphia Area?

I have associations with both Bucks County Community College and Villanova
University and I am sure I could get facilities to use on a Saturday.

I am associated with CSTA Philly, and would advertise the event with
Instructors.   I am also on a PA SEED Leadership Team for the 5 county
area, and Alice would be a great programming language for our students in
PA East to use.

I attended the Alice 2.0 workshop in S.C. several years ago. I would like to update to 3.0. Is there going to be a workshop in my area for Alice 3.0+?

Alice 3 workshop for about 8 weeks in the summer for teachers through
Coursera. We are developing an online Coursera Alice 3 course that we hope
to launch in May or June. Our special summer session would be for teachers
and would have lots of extra online office hours with Steve and I
throughout the summer.

We will put that info here in March or April as we figure out how this will
work.

I don?t know if you remember me or not. I am the Instructional Coach who works with teachers at early college high schools that took your Alice 2 three-week workshop several years ago at Duke.

The online Alice 3 workshop is exciting. If it does indeed come to fruition, would I be able to participate? How much would it cost or would it be similar to your Java Programming Coursera course?

I don?t know if you remember me or not. I am the Instructional Coach who works with teachers at early college high schools that took your Alice 2 three-week workshop several years ago at Duke.

The online Alice 3 workshop is exciting. If it does indeed come to fruition, would I be able to participate? How much would it cost or would it be similar to your Java Programming Coursera course?

I'm a huge fan of both Dr. Rodger and Dr. Cooper (any chance I can have
that awesome student world with the breakdancing to inspire my students
with?).

Anything these two individuals would/could bring to Coursera would be great
for educators and great for Coursera, quite frankly.
