alice-teacher Objects in Gallery different

See the attached two screen shots, “browse” and open”…

To import models from other locations on your computer or network other than the Alice3/My Classes directory:

(Assume that the model that I want to import is on my Desktop - screen shots from OS X)

<“Browse" screen shot>
	1) Go to the Scene Editor
	2) In the Gallery, select the “My Classes” tab…
	3) Click on the “Browse” button

<“open" screen shot>
	4) In the Open dialog box that appears after clicking the Browse button
	5) Navigate through system to find the directory that contains the models that you want to import
	6) Select that directory - in the screen shot I have selected the Desktop
	7) Click the Open button

Any models in that directory should now appear in the Gallery

More explanation… Understand that the Browse button in the My Classes tab is not an “import" button to allow you to select a specific model to bring into the scene, but rather a "set directory” button that points Alice at an alternative location of models to be imported. This will allow Alice to then display the visual representation of the models that you want to import.

I hope that this helps. Let me know if you have another questions.

Later,
Don Slater

Copy this complete directory and use it to replace the ‘deficient’ gallery directory on one of the other machines. Check to see if this worked for by starting Alice.
