alice-teacher Unable to run alice 2.3

I experienced the exact same problem.   I was able to bring up 2.2 successfully.

Alice 2.x actually does not need Java installed as it comes with its own VM.

One thing I discovered with this latest version is that if you are using a shortcut or a Dock icon that was created with an earlier version, the latest version, 2.3.1, will not work, and that I had to recreate the shortcut / dock icon.

If changing the shortcut does not work for you, would you do me a favor and download an earlier version of Alice, to see if it will install and run. Try the August 5 version, available at this link…
