SEEDS (Scalable Educational Experiences with Digital Scaffolding), created in collaboration with Vision Empower, is a voice-based educational platform for CVIs. It integrates an Android Teacher App, an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, and a website for content management, facilitating interactive STEM education. A study with 29 visually impaired students demonstrated SEEDS' capacity to engage students and support collaboration, despite connectivity challenges. This talk will explore the journey of SEEDS from conception to field studies, highlighting the technological innovations, collaborative efforts, and the learning experiences they facilitate for the CVI community.</p><p>Speakers:<br>Roshni Poddar is a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research Lab India (MSRI). She received her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from PES University, Bangalore, India. Her passion lies in co-designing, building, and evaluating systems to facilitate learning, creativity, and mixed-ability collaboration with people from disability communities. She loves to paint and play table tennis. She is applying to PhD programs this fall! :)<br>Tarini Naik is a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research Lab India (MSRI). She received her undergraduate degree in Industrial Design from Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore, India. She works on various projects in the field of HCI, Accessibility, and Service Design. Her research interests are deeply rooted in accessibility and societal impact.
